Ingredients:

  • 3 large apples (approx. 1.5 lbs / 680g), peeled and diced into 1/2 inch pieces
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, toss the diced apples with lemon juice, cinnamon, and 2 tablespoons of brown sugar. Transfer the mixture into an oven-safe dish, pressing the apples down slightly to create a flat surface.
  2. In the same bowl, combine the rolled oats, 1/4 cup brown sugar, all-purpose flour, and salt. Add the cold, cubed butter and use a fork to mash it into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse, pebbly sand with some pea-sized lumps.
  3. Evenly sprinkle the oat streusel over the apples. Place the dish into the air fryer basket and cook at 350°F (175°C) for 12–15 minutes until the topping is deep mahogany brown and the apple juices are bubbling.
