Ingredients:

  • 6 cups peeled and sliced firm pears
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp arrowroot starch
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup certified gluten-free rolled oats
  • 3/4 cup almond flour
  • 1/2 cup coconut sugar
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced pears, maple syrup, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, starch, and vanilla. Toss gently until evenly coated.
  3. Pour the pear mixture into a 9x9 inch baking dish, spreading it into an even layer.
  4. In a medium bowl, whisk together the gluten-free oats, almond flour, coconut sugar, and salt.
  5. Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry ingredients. Use fingertips or a fork to work the butter in until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs with pea-sized lumps.
  6. Stir in the sliced almonds.
  7. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the pear filling.
  8. Bake for 40–45 minutes until the fruit juices are bubbling around the edges and the topping is golden brown.
